King's Noodle House

Man, we've been crushing King Noodle every week recently, it's our spot now. it's officially my favourite Chinese spot downtown. The restaurant is clean, the food is fresh and delicious. I'm not sure when they renovated but it's really nice inside, they have hanging ducks and whole roasted pork in the window and a huge stack of donut sticks off to the side. Their congee is great, so many varieties, we got the one with crispy duck in it. Pea shoots are expensive so we went for the chinese cabbage instead even though I LOVE pea shoots. Their menu is extensive, crew favourites are mapu tofu, creamed corn crispy grouper, greens and of course the BBQ. This is almost like Chinese soul food. If you order a lot they'll hook you up with free soup. You can keep it cheap here as well, it's just $7.25 for a plate of BBQ pork, dry noodles and chinese cabbage. Main dishes can be anywhere from $10 - $20 it all depends what you get. IMPORTANT: it's frustrating but they're closed wednesdays, we'll just have to deal with it. Damn. 296 Spadina Ave. (416) 598-1817

Yes! This has always been one of my favourite joints too. Why aren't you repping the noodles?
